DAYTON, OHIO—Friday’s forecast is a 100 percent chance of wine! The Annunciation Greek Orthodox Church is hosting their second annual wine tasting this Friday, Jan. 27.
The casual affair will be from 7 p.m. to 10 p.m. and held at the Annunciation Greek Orthodox Church located at 500 Belmonte Park, down the street from The Dayton Art Institute. The evening will have you enjoy a few of life’s indulgences including music, 5 wines available to sample, a variety of entrees, desserts and Greek coffee.
The wines available for sampling include a rose, Greek, moscato, red and white wine. Each wine was selected by George Karras, owner of “The Market,” A family owned shop located on Wilmington Pike in Kettering.
The event is being sponsored by The Daughters of Penelope, a non-profit organization. Tickets cost $30 and proceeds will go to the organization's district projects to support Truncus Arteriosus, a rare heart disease, and the AHEPA Buckeye Scholarship Foundation.
“Don’t be put off because it’s a Greek event, it is open to everyone. We want people to feel welcome to come enjoy the festivities” says event adviser, Athena Zois. “It is going to be a lot of fun and a great opportunity to experience a bit of Greek culture and enjoy some delicious wine.”
